PCOS and me!

After an extremely long hiatus of 8 years, I am re-trying my hands at blogging. Life has changed so much since my last (and only) blog, including my own priorities in life. A large part of the past few years have been riddled by my stint with PCOS and the related ups and downs. The alarmingly high number of fertility specialists and hospitals should force everyone of us to take a step back and think - why do we find ourselves in this scenario? The following are my two cents on this and if it helps anyone, I will be glad. PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) is a condition where the female ovaries have 'cysts' (neerkatti in tamil) which essentially hinders our reproductive system from performing seamlessly. The common reasons for this include obesity, couch potato lifestyles, less exercise, heredity, yada yada yada. How I enjoyed Saarang 2010!!

The gala began in style on 22 nd evening, with the performance of Dr. Balamurali Krishna. This was the first classical music concert I had attended and felt the heat of it. The reason being, though there were many people who understood what he was singing, I was only sure of the fact that he was singing. It took me a while even to realize that he was singing a song in tamil, my native tongue!! Later I learnt that all the songs he sang were very popular numbers. Maybe I should refrain myself from such experiments in future. This was followed by a dance performance by Isha Sherwani, choreographed by Daksha Seth. Wow!! The choreography and performance were mind blowing and most of us were watching with popping out eye balls and slightly open mouths!!
